Wuxi Great Hall of the People, covering an area of 3.9 hectares, was the largest gathering and performance venue in Wuxi in the early days of the founding of New China. It was founded in 1952 and was moved to Yonghe Road in Wuxi City in 1996. The new venue was put into use on September 30, 1999. Now, the Great Hall serves as Wuxi's "Political Conference Center, Cultural and Art Center, and the Business Exhibition Center".
Wuxi Great Hall of the People is located at No.2 Yonghe Road, Liangxi District, Wuxi City, and is on the northeast side of Taihu Square which is the largest public leisure square in Wuxi. Covering an area of 23,000 square meters, it consists of 2 buildings with 4 floors of more than 30 meters each in height and a grassplot public square of 10,000 square meters.
The Great Hall has a total construction area of 28,362 square meters. There are 1,248 seats in the conference hall for meetings and performances. In addition, there is a presidium conference hall that can accommodate 120 people with a simultaneous interpretation system.
